Overview of FPS Board of Directors Position

The Franklin Pierce Schools Board of Directors is seeking applicants to serve as the Director of District 2. Applications will be accepted through Friday, April 19, 2024 at 4:00pm. The District 2 Director will be appointed to serve until November 2025, when they will have the opportunity to seek re-election. Applicants must be a registered voter who resides within Franklin Pierce Schools District 2. (click here to view the FPS district boundaries).

As a district, Franklin Pierce Schools continues to work toward more equitable outcomes for all students, staff and families. We seek director applicants who are committed to advancing this work by stewarding the vision of the district, supporting the structure of the organization, holding district leadership accountable to continuous improvement, and continually advocating for the interests of students.

The Franklin Pierce Schools Board of Directors meets 1-3 times per month, usually on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. Additional responsibilities include graduation ceremonies, an annual retreat, and occasional school and district events. Directors receive compensation for their service - $50/day for approved activities, not to exceed $4,800/year.

Applicants will be interviewed during an open public meeting on Tuesday, April 23  or Tuesday, April 30 in the Building C Board Room located at 315 129th Street South.
