In accordance with WAC 392-172A-05235 and RCW 28A.155.090 and U.S.C. 1400, special education records are retained by the Franklin Pierce School District for a minimum of six years after a student graduates, withdraws from the district, or is exited from special education services.

Franklin Pierce School District is hereby notifying any student, former student that has reached 18 years of age, or legal guardian of said student, that they may review and/or receive the records by contacting Teaching and Learning Services at SpecialEdRR@fpschools.org.

Special Education services provides a coordinated set of instruction and supports that will enable every student, regardless of their ability, to become an active, contributing member of the community.

Specially designed instruction adapts as appropriate to the needs of the student the content, methodology, or delivery of instruction. The frequency and duration of specially designed instruction  is designed, monitored, and evaluated by the special education staff as specified in the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).  The location of the student's services is also defined by a student’s IEP. Franklin Pierce offers a continuum of services based on students’ needs.
