Program Areas

Agricultural/Environmental Science Education uses a three-circle model of instruction. These are classroom and laboratory instruction, leadership development, and experiential learning. The successful integration of each of these three components results in a strong program that produces well rounded individuals who are prepared to think critically about human impacts on the environment and apply ecological thinking to to agriculture, business, and industry.

Business and Marketing Education prepares students for employment and/or continuing education opportunities through technical instruction in the classroom, experiential education in the laboratory, student internships, and through leadership and personal development by participating in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO). The area of study places an emphasis on finance, administrative and technical support, entrepreneurship, hospitality and tourism, management and marketing.

Family and Consumer Science Education allows students to plan for future careers, develop practical skills for employment, understand the importance of nutrition, and learn about appropriate childcare practices, financial literacy, resource management, parenting, and the art of positive communication. The Family and Consumer Science courses allow students to develop teamwork, leadership, and technology skills that enable them to become high-level critical thinkers to meet personal, family, career, and community challenges they will face in their adult life.

Health Science Education prepares students for employment and/or continuing education opportunities in healthcare through technical instruction in the classroom, experiential education in the laboratory, clinical settings, and leadership skills development by participating in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO).

Skilled and Technical Sciences Education prepares students for employment and/or continuing education opportunities in skilled trades, the arts and other technical occupations, by designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing or publishing content.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Education is an interdisciplinary approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons as students apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in contexts that make connections between school, community, work, and the global enterprise enabling the development of STEM literacy and with it the ability to compete in the new economy.
