Family Academy

We're excited to introduce the FPS Family Academy, a new series of courses designed specifically for parents and guardians of PK-12 students! These hands-on sessions will help you confidently navigate the digital tools that keep you connected to your child's education. This series is brought to you by the Office of Information Technology and the Office of Strategic Partnerships & Communications.

Whether you're tech-savvy or just getting started with digital platforms, these sessions are designed to meet you where you are and build your confidence in supporting your child's success.

Can't make the in-person course? We will be posting the presentations on this webpage so you can refer to them any time you need that information.

MONDAY, April 20: Health services

This session will focus on:

  • Health requirements in school
  • The many things our health services staff do to impact student health
  • When to keep your child at home from school
 
MONDAY, May 18: sel, mental health & suBstance use

6:00-7:00PM at the FPS District Office (315 129th St S)

This session will focus on:

  • PK-12 social emotional learning
  • Additional supports for your child’s mental health
  • What families should know about substance use among youth

This session will focus on:

• Updating your contact information
• How to check your student’s grades anytime
• Completing annual forms
• Communicating with your school and your student’s teachers

  • How to get involved with your school’s PTA, PTSA, or PTO
  • Opportunities to participate in Parent Advisory Committees
  • Ways to engage with the FPS School Board

MONDAY, March 16: nutrition services & the farm

This session will focus on:

  • FPS breakfast and lunch menus
  • Learning and growing at the Farm at Franklin Pierce
  • Accessing healthy foods at school and beyond
