Information Technology
While technology usage has changed over the past 20 years, school funding models have not adapted to the growing costs of infrastructure, hardware and software. Franklin Pierce Schools has benefited immensely from the community’s overwhelming support of the district’s technology levies in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018. These levies have generated additional revenue that fund technology initiatives throughout the district.
In the Fall of 2018, Franklin Pierce Schools launched One to World, an initiative aimed at ensuring that each student in the district has access to a computing device. One to World seeks to connect each learner with people, ideas and information from across the world, and make sure that graduates of Franklin Pierce Schools are equipped to leverage technology as a resource in their ongoing academics, work and civic life. This program has begun in elementary schools and will expand to secondary schools.
