COVID-19 response protocols are complex and vary based on several personal factors that vary from case to case. We work with the Tacoma Pierce-County Health Department (TPCHD) to determine next steps in every situation.

The district works with TPCHD to determine any appropriate quarantines and other mitigating measures that support health and safety in our schools. Quarantines are based on factors such as what masks were being worn, details of social distancing realities (a close contact?), vaccination status, etc. The definition of close contact is someone that you have been less than 6-feet from for more than 15 cumulative minutes in a 24-hour period.
