Franklin Pierce Schools is home to a wonderfully diverse group of students, families, community members and staff. Our strength stems from the ways in which this rich set of cultures, experiences, languages, skills and legacies from across our community, region, country and world interact with one another.
As a school district, we support each individual in our care and strive to promote a safe, welcoming, affirming and honoring space where individuals representing every race, religion, national origin, and immigration status can thrive. As stated in FPS Board of Directors Resolution 24-R-09: Affirming the Provision of Safe, Welcoming, and Inclusive Schools for All Students Without Regard to Race, Religion, National Origin, or Immigration Status, we seek to provide safeguards from individuals and organizations that undermine this commitment.
Franklin Pierce Schools will follow practices supported through the Supreme Court of the United States in Plyler v. Doe case to ensure that all children are legally entitled to a free public education regardless of their immigration status and that Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions will not occur on schools unless unlawful activity requires it.
