2026-27 Budget Public Hearing - A slightly revised budget presentation will be shared during the July 7, 2026 school board meeting which begins at noon. The public is welcome to attend this meeting and provide public comment prior to board action. Preview of the agenda and content (link) will be available prior to the meeting.

 

2026 External Audit

The Franklin Pierce School District requested the Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) conduct an independent evaluative study of the district’s financial position, administrative staffing levels (with a focus on the central office), resource/allocation models, and the effectiveness and efficiency of the Franklin Pierce organizational structure/staff. The results of this study are contained in the WASA Management & Operational Review – January 2026.

2026 Levies

Franklin Pierce Schools remains grateful to our community for the support of our two levies in the February 10, 2026 election. We will begin to receive funds from the levy in February 2027, and we are eager to apply these funds to the various programs and projects that the levies support.

Prop 1: Educational Programs & Operations

This replacement levy pays for essential staff and programs the state does not fully fund, including:

  • 200+ staff positions: teachers (smaller class sizes), nurses, counselors, librarians, paraeducators, and safety staff
  • Learning supports: curriculum, classroom materials, Special Education, multilingual learners, and Dual Language programs
  • Student opportunities: early learning, arts, music, athletics, college and career readiness, and extracurricular activities

The EP&O levy funds approximately 15% of day-to-day school operations.

Prop 2: Technology, Safety & Capital Projects

This replacement levy Invests in modern, safe, and reliable learning environments. This levy supports:

  • Technology for all students: learning devices, tech support, classroom technology, digital curriculum, and online learning tools
  • Safety and cybersecurity: upgraded security systems, data protection, communication systems, and emergency response tools
  • Facility upkeep: roof and mechanical repairs, HVAC and air quality upgrades, safe water systems, lighting, athletic and community spaces, and other small capital projects
