All aboard the FPS electric bus

Join us on June 17 as we celebrate and unveil the first electric school bus in Washington state. Franklin Pierce Schools is thrilled to be the leader in a new era of school transportation that could transform school bus fleets across Washington. Governor Jay Inslee, along with state and local officials and the community will gather for a brief speaking program and conclude with a ribbon cutting.

- Monday, June 17; 3:30-4:30pm (Please note that school is in session until 2:50pm. Please arrive between 3-3:30pm to help us avoid traffic congestion).
Parking:
General parking will be available in the Franklin Pierce High School student lot. Parking attendants and signage will direct participants to the correct location (please see the map below).
Franklin Pierce Schools (FPS) was honored to receive funding for the first electric bus through TransAlta’s Centralia Coal Transition Grants with guidance from ATS Automation Building Solutions. FPS is working with Tacoma Public Utilities to fuel the bus with 97% carbon-free electricity, optimize routes, infrastructure and planning for the expansion of their electric school bus pilot program.
