How often will FPS send text messages?
Usage will depend on whether or not there is inclement weather and or safety/security concerns in the school or local area.
I currently use the School Messenger App to communicate with my child’s teacher or coach. Is this the same system?
The emergency notification system will send messages through your phone providers text messaging system (if available). It does not interfere with current or future School Messenger app usage.
Is there a cost for signing up for notifications?
Standard message and data rates will apply. Plans that require customers to pay per text message will incur costs at the standard rate. Messages sent to customers with unlimited or batch text message plans will be treated as any other text message.
If I sign up and don’t want to continue, can I remove my name and number from the system?
Franklin Pierce Schools parents, guardians and staff can always opt-out of receiving emergency notifications by sending “STOP” to #67587.
If I sign up this year, will I have to sign up each year?
Once you sign up to receive emergency messages, you will continue to receive emergency notifications until your opt-out by sending “STOP” to #67587, you no longer have a phone number on file with Franklin Pierce Schools (no longer a parent of an FPS student or no longer employed by the district), or you change phone numbers.
