Franklin Pierce Schools

About the District

Franklin Pierce School District was established in 1949 and has a history of progressive thinking that helps to make our District one of the most innovative Districts in the county. Our 950 employees proudly serve 7900 students from preschool to grade 12 in a variety of settings including eight elementaries, two middle schools, two traditional high schools and three alternative high school/middle schools. The District strives to meet the learning needs of all students, to prepare our students for success beyond high school, to provide safe and caring schools that promote learning and to increase family and community involvement. We work hard to create programs to help improve the learning of all of our students. Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on basic skills, challenging college preparatory classes, elective subjects and vocational/technical programs.

Franklin Pierce School District is located in south Pierce County between majestic Mount Rainier and the Pacific Ocean. We are fortunate to be located in a county that has many things to offer: well-respected institutions of higher learning like Pacific Lutheran University, University of Washington-Tacoma Branch, University of Puget Sound and City University, as well as numerous community colleges and vocational-technical colleges. World-renowned museums like the Glass Museum and the Washington State Historical Museum, as well as a variety of fine dining experiences, churches of many denominations and quality hospitals are just minutes away from the District.

The community support that Franklin Pierce enjoys shows in the multimillion dollar renovations to our schools that our community supports through their levy and bond dollars. We also benefit from community and business partnerships such as with Intel and the Gates Foundation.
