Elementary Highly Capable Program now accepting applications
If you have a student who is intellectually advanced, is inquisitive, loves to learn, and enjoys challenges, you may be interested in the district’s Highly Capable Student Program. The application process for the 2013-2014 school year will begin soon. If you have not received information about the district’s elementary program (Project Excel for 4th and 5th graders) by March 2nd, please contact Judy Siesseger at 253-298-3062. She will be happy to send you an application packet.
The Cognitive Abilities Test (one piece of information used for program selection) will take place on Thursday, March 21st during the school day. You must pre-register your child for testing by 4:00 p.m. March 14th. Registrations will not be accepted after the March 14th deadline. No exceptions.
Please be aware that students who live within the district boundaries will receive first consideration for this program. Out-of-district students who attend Franklin Pierce Schools must be granted another year’s release and will be placed in the program after all qualifying FPSD students have been served.
